The first specimen was lot 4085 in Goldberg sale 67 (Los Angeles, January 2012), where it sold for $195.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - Brandenburg-Bayreuth. Taler, 1766-ES. Friedrich Christian. Armored bust right. Reverse: Crowned and supported arms, B in cartouche. Minor adjustment marks. Very Fine." The second specimen was lot 2375 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[2] noted, "Konventionstaler 1766. Bayreuth Fast vorzüglich. (choice extremely fine.)" This type was issued 1766 and 1768 and is listed as somewhat scarce. It comes not from the Electorate of Brandenburg (later the Kingdom of Prussia) but from Brandenburg-Bayreuth, a Hohenzollern enclave west of Bavaria and neighboring Nuremburg.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.
