This specimen is a common date of a type struck at the Paris mint for France 1962-2001. Unlike some of the other denominations of the Fifth Republic, this type was struck in large quantities (over five billion total, the highest of any French coin type) until the end of the franc in 2001.

Recorded mintage: 145,890,576.

Specification: 3 g, aluminum-bronze, 20 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Henri Lagriffoul (1907-81) and Adrien Dieudonné (1912-82).

Catalog reference: F.144/28, KM 929, Gad-293.
