This franc was struck for kings Leopold III and Baudouin I of Belgium, 1950-88. This is a common date. An equal quantity were struck with Dutch legends (KM 143.1). Varieties exist with medal alignment (KM 142.2). Belgium joined the euro in 2002 and all the franc coinage is obsolete.

Recorded mintage: 3,960, 000 plus 3,960,000 with Dutch legends.

Specification: 4 g, copper-nickel, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge.
