Stack's Bowers 2023 ANA sale, lot 53588

This specimen was lot 53588 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 50 Dollars, 2000. Elizabeth II. PCGS GEM UNCIRCULATED. Nugget series: Kangaroos. Encapsulated in PCGS "WTC Ground Zero Recovery" holder." Another one of the innumerable NCLT's pouring out of the Perth mint. Another fifty dollar coin of 2000 featured the koala (KM 472).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 15.59 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
