Sincona sale 77, lot 3503

This specimen was lot 3503 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 66,154 CHF (about US$80,298 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"AUSTRALIEN. Elisabeth II. seit 1952. 3000 Dollars 2000. Dragon. Feingewicht: 1000 Gramm. Polierte Platte. (commonwealth of Australia, Elizabeth II, since 1952, three thousand dollars of 2000, year of the dragon. Choice Proof.)"

The SCWC notes three different catalog numbers for this denomination in 2000; this one, a similar $3000 with the Perth mintmark (KM 1332) and a third (KM 455) featuring the red kangaroo.
