This specimen was lot 43221 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 10 Zlotych (1-1/2 Rubles), 1835-MW. Warsaw Mint. Nicholas I. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details." This issue was struck 1833-41 at Warsaw and St. Petersburg while Poland was under Russian rule (1815-1918). Ten złotych equaled 1½ ruble. Russian coinage for Poland ended in 1850.
Recorded mintage: 3,081 plus 262,007 from St. Petersburg.
Specification: 31.10 g, 0.868 fine silver.
