This specimen was lot 3190 in Sincona sale 91 (Zurich, May 2024), where it sold for 29,000 CHF (about US$38,321 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, Pistole 1635, Freiburg. Altes Freiburger Wappen zwischen F - B. Rv. Krückenkreuz in doppeltem Vierpass mit Blattverzierungen, in den Zwickeln je ein Ringel. In der Umschrift die Jahreszahl. Sehr selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Fribourg, pistole of 1635, Fribourg mint. Obverse: old Fribourg arms between "F - B"; reverse: crutch cross in double quadrilobe with leaf decorations, a ringlet in each of the spandrels, the date in the legend. Very rare, Very fine-extremely fine.)"
The SCWC calls this a duplone while Friedberg labels it "1 Duplone or 1 Pistole". It is very rare but all the gold coins of this canton are rare to extremely rare. It is the last gold coin from Fribourg.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 7.64 g, gold, this specimen 6.73 g.
