This specimen was lot 1710 in Jean Elsen sale 158 (Brussels, March 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

R/ Ecus ovales de France et de Navarre sous une couronne. Rare. Légère trace d'ajustage au revers. Superbe. This is a better date of the double louis d'or au bandeau, of a type struck 1740-74. The Strasbourg mint struck large numbers of this denomination to support French army operations in Germany during the War of the Austrian Succession; the Paris mint was only an intermittent producer.

Reported Mintage: 16,073, a slightly better date.
