This specimen was lot 10469 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $734. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREECE. 2 Lepta, 1832. NGC MS-65 BN." This type is listed for 1832-42 and, like most of the issues of nineteenth century Greece, is scarce. Despite the substantial mintage, this type is scarce in nice condition. King Otto fell foul of the local politicians and was forced to abdicate in 1863.
Recorded mintage: 2,475,000.
Specification: copper.
Catalog reference: KM-14; Geo-16.
