This specimen was lot 22632 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Prussia. 3 Mark, 1910-A. Berlin Mint. PCGS MS-65+ Gold Shield. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Berlin University, this superlative Gem offers tremendous luster and radiance, along with some deeper areas of iridescence scattered throughout." This commemorative is fairly common. The regular issue three mark (KM 527) was also issued in 1910.
Recorded mintage: 200,000 plus 2,000 proofs.
Specification: 16.67 g, 0.900 fine silver, 33 mm diameter.
