This issue, from the Lille mint, is a common date of a type struck 1825-30. All francs of Charles X are of this type with the exception of some very rare reeded edge specimens issued in 1830. It was demonetized in France in 1869. This specimen was lot 575 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $499.38. The catalog description[3] noted, "FRANCE. Franc, 1826-W. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. Toned."
