Shown is a silver thousand réis or coroa of 1845. It was struck 1837-45 in very limited numbers. Maria II reigned 1834-53 after overcoming the usurpation of her uncle Miguel I. The next silver coroa struck (KM 539 of 1898) was only 25 grams.
