This specimen was lot 30750 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand I gold Ducat 1837, Hermannstadt mint, MS62 NGC. A choice example with subtle patina and prooflike surfaces. Struck in Transylvania in homage of Ferdinand following his coronation in 1835. Very scarce commemorative and a premium coin for this certified grade." This type is unlisted in the SCWC or Friedberg. It is probably a proclamation medal, not a coin tho we are sure it circulated in a pinch.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.50 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.5 g.
Catalog reference: Resch-252.
