Sincona sale 38, lot 1835

This specimen was lot 1835 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,679 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Ferdinand I. 1835-1848 Dukat 1837. Kremnitz. Vorzüglich. Winz. Randfehler. (empire of Austria, Ferdinand I, 1835-48, ducat of 1837, Kremnitz mint. Extremely fine. Minor rim nick.)"

This type was issued 1837-48 and is noted in the SCWC as fairly common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen 3.47 g.
