This specimen was lot 42088 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[India|INDIA]]. Mughal Empire. Rupee, AH 1179 Year 6 (1765). [[India, Gwalior|Gwalior]] Mint. In the name of Shah Alam II. NGC MS-63." Tis coin was not issued by the Mughals, whose empire had greatly shrivelled by this time, but by Mahadji Rao, ruler of Gwalior 1761-94.
