This specimen was lot 42088 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Mughal Empire. Rupee, AH 1179 Year 6 (1765). Gwalior Mint. In the name of Shah Alam II. NGC MS-63." Tis coin was not issued by the Mughals, whose empire had greatly shrivelled by this time, but by Mahadji Rao, ruler of Gwalior 1761-94. This type is listed for years 1-14 (AH 1174-87) and is common.
