This specimen was lot 4711 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,809 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KAISERREICH Alexander II. 1855-1881. Ku.-5 Kopeken 1865, Ekaterinburg. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Herrliche Kupferpatina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (empire of Russia, Alexander II, 1855-81, copper five kopeks of 1865, Ekaterinburg mint. Rare in this grade, handsome copper color, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This is listed as the most common date of a type issued 1858-67. The copper five kopeks was terminated in 1881. This specimen sold for twenty-two times the catalog value.
