This type was introduced in 1982 with the accession of queen Beatrix (1980-2013) to the throne of the Netherlands. The specification was unchanged from the issues of queen Juliana (KM 184a) but the design was modernized. The type was struck until the coming of the euro in 2002.

Recorded mintage: 4,200,000 plus 20,000 proofs.

Specification: 6 g, nickel, 25 mm diameter.
