This specimen was lot 44733 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 2 Pounds, 2002. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-68 Ultra Cameo. An attractive Proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices. A part of the Golden Jubilee set for Elizabeth II." Proof sets of the circulating coinage were struck in gold in 2002. Gold proof sets were issued again in 2008 when new reverses were introduced.
