This is an eight reales struck in Peru during the reign of Ferdinand VI (1746-1759). The specimen shown was lot 1239 in Aureo y Calicó sale 232 (Barcelona, March 2011), where it sold for 225 euros (about US$371 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"Fernando VI (1746-1759). 1758. Lima. JM. 8 reales. Columnario. Punto sobre las dos LMA. Bonito color. Escasa. MBC. (Ferdinand VI, 1746-59, eight reales of 1758, Lima mint, pillar type, dot over both mintmarks. Nice color, scarce, very fine).
