This specimen was lot 28896 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $2,232.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nicholas II 50 Kopecks 1912 ЭБ, MS65 NGC, a fully lustrous gem, and deserving of a strong bid." This is the most common date of a type struck 1894-1914. The fifty kopeks replaced the old poltina or half ruble.

Recorded mintage: 7,085,000.

Specification: 9.99 g, .900 fine silver.
