This specimen was lot 3550 in Goldberg sale 62 (Beverly Hills, February 2010), where it sold for $322. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gambia. 1000 Dalasis, 1989. Save the Children Fund. NGC graded Proof 68 Ultra Cameo." The Gambia is an English-speaking region wedged inside the French-speaking Senegal. Attempts to unify them have been fruitless.

Recorded mintage: 3,000.

Specification: 10 g, .917 fine gold, 0.2948 troy oz AGW.
