Sincona sale 18, lot 1135

This specimen was lot 1135 in Sincona sale 18 (Zurich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"500 Reis 1849. Rio. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (Brazil, five hundred réis of 1849, Rio mint. Very fine to good very fine.)"

This is a scarce date of a type of 1848-52.

Recorded mintage: 26,000.

Specification: 6.37 g, 0.917 fine silver, .187 troy oz ASW, this specimen 6.33 g.
