Künker sale 406, lot 4605

This specimen was lot 4605 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,181 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Karl VI. 1711-1740. Reichstaler 1716, Wien. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (Austria, Charles VI, 1711-40, thaler of 1716, Vienna mint. Handsome patina, extremely fine.)"

Austrian thalers for 1716 include KM 1522/Dav-1035 (shown here), KM 1570/Dav-1051 and KM 1579.1/Dav-1036. This one was struck 1712-18 and is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
