This specimen was part of lot 33320 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), which sold for $493.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George II Four Coin Maundy Set 1740 AU. Youthful portrait of the king. Choice Almost Uncirculated with resplendent luster." Silver threepence of George II were struck 1729-46 and 1760 for Maundy sets and circulation. The denomination is still struck for the Maundy sets.
