This specimen was lot 1756 in Sincona sale 82 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$2,141 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "George II. 1727-1760. 1/2 Guinea 1740, London. Intermediate laureate head. Selten (Rare). NGC UNC Details. Kratzer auf Vorderseite (Scratches on obverse)." This particular bust, the "middle aged head", was used 1740 and 1745-46. It is priced about double the "old head" half guinea of 1747-60.
