Sincona sale 97, lot 1981

This specimen was lot 1981 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,596 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Karl VI. 1711-1740. Taler 1727, Hall. Vorzüglich-FDC. Hübsche Patina. Winziges Zainende. (Holy Roman Empire, Charles VI, 1711-40, About Uncirculated, Attractively toned, Minor edge clip.)"

The SCWC lists this type for 1724-34 and is among the more common thalers of emperor Charles VI. Similar coins were issued from Graz, Vienna (Dav-1037) and Breslau (Dav-1098).

Recorded mintage: 245,000.
