This specimen was lot 3856 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$506 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen-Altenburg, Herzogtum Ernst, 1853-1908. Vereinstaler 1858. Mmz. F. Patina. Fast FDC. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Altenburg, Ernest, 1853-1908, union thaler of 1858, toned, choice uncirculated.)"
