This specimen was lot 10094 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €264 (about US$275). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 8 Skilling, 1609. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC VF-25. Scarce date. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck at Copenhagen 1606-09 and was worth 1/12 speciedaler. Undated versions exist. Christian IV (r. 1588-1648) had a long but only moderately successful reign. His war with Sweden and his intervention in the Thirty Years War were costly and brought little gain.
