This specimen was lot 31728 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $528.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "James VI 10 Shillings 1594, VF35 NGC. An unusually large flan with a well-detailed portrait on the obverse and thistle on the reverse." The SCWC lists this rare coin for 1593-1601. In England, ten shillings was half a pound but this coin is much smaller.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 5.98 g, 0.916 fine silver.
Catalog reference: KM-A5, S-5493.
