This specimen was lot 1040 in Jean Elsen price list 259 (Brussels, January-March 2012), where it was offered at € 800. The catalog noted,
"ECOSSE, Jacques VI (1567-1625), AR 10 shillings, 1598, Différent: fleur.. Droit: B. cuirassé à droite. Revers: Plant de chardons sous une couronne. Rare. Patinée. Très Beau (Scotland, James VI (1567-1625), silver ten shillings of 1598; flower privy mark. Obverse: armored bust to right; reverse: crowned thistle plant. Rare, toned, VF)"
This specimen was offered again in Jean Elsen's list 269 (July-September 2014). The SCWC lists this rare coin for 1593-1601. In England, ten shillings was half a pound but this coin is much smaller.
