This specimen was lot 22454 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Farthing, 1697. William III (1694-1702). PCGS AU-53 Secure Holder. Weakly struck, traces of mint red." The early issues (1692-93) of William III show him conjoined with his queen, Mary II; after her death he is portrayed alone. Several branch mints issued this type but this specimen is from London. The type was struck 1695-1701 with a few struck in silver.
