Künker sale 335, lot 4701

This specimen was lot 4701 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €400 (about US$524 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. Leopold I. 1657-1705. Reichstaler 1693, Wien. Feine Patina, vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1705, thaler of 1693, Vienna mint. Fine patina, extremely fine.)"

This type was minted 1692-95 and is fairly common. Other thalers for 1693 include Dav-3234 (Graz), -3237 (st. Veit) and -3243 (Hall) as well as various multiples.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 28.67 g.
