The quarter rupee was struck for George VI 1943-45 at Calcutta, Lahore and Bombay. It is about the size of a dime but had 5¢ worth of silver. The 1944 is common. The dot below the lotus flower marks this as a product of the Bombay mint.

Recorded mintage: 170,504,000 at Bombay plus 86,400,000 at Lahore.

Specification: 2.92 g, 0.500 fine silver, 19 mm diameter.
