This specimen was lot 56603 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/4 Rupee, 1943-(C). Calcutta Mint. George VI. PCGS MS-65. Reeded edge." This type was struck 1942-43 at Calcutta of debased silver.
Recorded mintage: 90,994,000.
