Shown is a 1728-K ''dixième d'écu aux branches d'olivier'' of the Bordeaux mint (mintmark "K"). This coin was part of the great coinage reform of Cardinal Fleury which finally terminated the manipulations which had disrupted the [[France|French]] economy since the 1690's. Many more dates are known than are listed in the SCWC, which lists only 1729 for the Bordeaux mint while Droulers[1] adds 1726, 1728 (shown here) and 1740. The tenth écu was the ancien régime version of a dime tho never struck in sufficient numbers to really convert France to a decimal currency.
