The first specimen was lot 71648 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Peso, 1945-M. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-67. Rays extruding from the liberty cap are reinforced by waves of silken luster, while the eagle is strikingly bathed in brilliance. Prefect for those who desire an original, argent Superb Gem." This specimen is from a type struck in massive numbers 1920-45 at the Mexico City mint (the last branch mint having closed in 1905). This date is very common and worth only its bullion content in circulated condition. The previous types (KM 453, struck 1910-14 and KM 454, struck 1918-19) had more silver.

Recorded mintage: 37,300,000.

Specification: 16.66 g, 0.720 fine silver, .385 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM-455.
