This specimen was lot 1468 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 21 (Winter Park, FL, May 2017), where it sold for $188. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Guatemala, bust 4 reales, Charles IV, 1804M, ex-Richard Stuart. Lustrous AU- with light steely toning over surface hairlines from cleaning, parts of rims crude (as made). Pedigreed to the Richard Stuart collection." This type is listed for 1790-1808 and is the most common colonial four reales from Guatemala. Unlike contemporary Mexican issues, Guatemala four reales are more available than the eight reales.
