This specimen was lot 31783 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $411.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Frederick I 5 Ore 1738-GZ, MS63 NGC. A choice example with nearly full mint brilliance and well-struck details. Rare in this select quality." This denomination was issued extensively through the eighteenth century until 1767 along with a billon ten öre. This type is noted for 1729-51.
Recorded mintage: 165,000 plus 610,000 for mint master "HM".
Specification: 3.51 g, .444 fine silver.
