This specimen was part of lot 33316 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), which sold for $734.38. The catalog description[1] noted, "George I Four Coin Maundy Set 1727 About XF. Coins grade XF or nearly so. Evenly toned and a very scarce issue. Last year of George I's reign." Silver groats of George I were struck for circulation and Maundy sets 1717, 1721, 1723 and 1727. This denomination is still struck for the Maundy sets.
