This specimen was lot 3492 in Goldberg sale 62 (Beverly Hills, February 2010), where it sold for $506. The catalog description[1] noted, "Costa Rica. 5 Pesos, 1867-GW. Arms above sprays. Reverse: Value spelled out. Reflective lustrous fields. NGC graded AU-55." This type was struck 1867-70 and is noted as somewhat available in the SCWC.
Recorded mintage: 39,000.
Specification: 7.33 g, 0.875 fine gold, 0.2064 troy oz AGW.
