Sincona sale 83, lot 3734

This specimen was lot 3734 in Sincona sale 83 (Zurich, May 2023), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$937 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY, Ziynet 25 Kurush 1293 H./Jahr 32, Qustantiniya (Konstantinopel/Istanbul). Selten in dieser Erhaltung NGC MS61. Exemplar der Sultan Collection, Auktion Künker 199, Osnabrück 2011, Los 547. Das durch NGC höchstbewertete Exemplar (Rare in this condition, Finest certified by NGC)." This monnaie de luxe struck years 26-34. Monnaie de luxe were thinner but wider than the regular issue (KM 729). Intended for presentation, they are usually found mounted.

Recorded mintage: 41,696.

Specification: 1.75 g, 0.917 fine gold, this specimen 1.72 g.
