This specimen was lot 73551 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREECE. Drachma, 1874-A. Paris Mint. George I. PCGS AU-55. A wonderful example, the present specimen delivers a sparkling luster and strong details throughout all beneath an entrancing coating of vivid rainbow color." This drachma was struck for Greece at the Paris mint 1868, 1873-74 and 1883. It is one of the few Greek silver coins of the nineteenth century which is somewhat available.
Recorded mintage: 2,249,000.
Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver.
