This specimen was lot 31685 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $558.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Willem gold Ducat 1830, Utrecht mint, torch mm, MS62 NGC. Lightly toned with considerable mint luster." This type was struck in Utrecht and Brussels 1817-40 but the bulk were clandestinely made in Russia, including this one. When the kingdom of the Netherlands was reconstituted in 1815 under the prince of Orange, the coinage was reformed with the gulden as the base unit.

Specification: 3.49 g, .986 fine gold, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge.
