Sincona sale 78, lot 62

This specimen was lot 62 in Sincona sale 78 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$509 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA | Russian Empire and Federation | Peter I. 1682-1725, Grivennik 1718, Red Mint, L L. 5 roubles according to Petrov. Fine-very fine." The SCWC lists this type for 1718 only altho other dates are known.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.84 g, 0.729 fine silver, this specimen is 2.61 g.

Catalog reference: KM 155, Diakov 612 (R1). Bitkin 1119 (R).
