This specimen was lot 5154 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €150 (about US$202 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND, KAISERREICH, Nikolaus I. 1825-1855. 1/2 Rubel (Poltina) 1849, St. Petersburg. Fast vorzüglich. (empire of Russia, Nicholas I, 1825-55, half ruble of 1849, St. Petersburg mint. About extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1832-58 and was emitted in substantial quantities at St. Petersburg and Warsaw. This date is common. The assayer is Paul Alexiev.
