This specimen was lot 71549 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 2006. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. A brilliant Proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices." This type was struck 1998-2008, as a revival of the old sovereign struck in Victorian and Edwardian times. It was accompanied by a gold two pounds and five pounds, also not intended to circulate.

Recorded mintage: 16,000.

Specification: 7.99 g, 0.917 fine gold.
