Netherlands 1863 2-5 gulden rev Ponterio 173-1573.jpg

This specimen was lot 1573 in Ponterio sale 173 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $940. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS. 2 1/2 Gulden, 1863. PCGS VF-30 Secure Holder. After the final issue of 1874, no 2½ gulden were issued until 1898. The .945 fine alloy seems to be unique to the Netherlands.

Recorded mintage: 50,652.
