The Dutch ten gulden is about four percent heavier than the similar French twenty francs. This type was struck for Wilhelmina (1890-1948) 1892, 1895 and 1897; the 1897 is the most common date. This specimen was lot 2050 in Sincona sale 25 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 17,500 CHF (about US$21,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Wilhelmina 1890-1948 10 Gulden 1895. Utrecht Head of the queen to left. Rev. Crowned arms between the divided value. Extremely rare, only 149 specimens minted. Proof. Brilliant uncirculated. Splendid quality."
This specimen was offered again as lot 1076 in Sincona Auction 100 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 20,000 CHF (about US$30,144 including buyers' fees).
