Sincona sale 77, lot 2852

This specimen was lot 2852 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 25,000 CHF (about US$30,345 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"THE NETHERLANDS | Kingdom of the Netherlands. Wilhelmina, 1890-1948. 10 Gulden 1892, Utrecht. Von grösster Seltenheit. Nur 61 Exemplare geprägt. NGC MS63*. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (kingdom of the Netherlands, Wilhelmina, 1890-1948, ten gulden of 1892, Utrecht mint. Of the highest rarity. Only 61 pieces struck. Uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"

This type was struck 1892, 1895 and 1897. Most collectors must content themselves with the 1897, the only available date.

Recorded mintage: 61 plus proofs.

Specification: 6.73 g, 0.900 fine gold, .194 troy oz AGW, 22.5 mm diameter, lettered edge.
